Arab Bank has co-sponsored Arab Banking Conference 2008 organized by the Union of Arab Banks to discuss "the Role of Banks in Financing Arab Investment projects."

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmad Nazif on April 6-7, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt, the World Union of Arab Bankers and the Federation of Egyptian Banks.

Participants discussed initiatives aimed to activate the role of Arab banks, investment bodies, funds and finance institutions concerned with developing and designing financing tools and techniques that fit mega investment projects in the Arab world and help them meet their goals and move towards Arab economic integration.

The event attracted the participation of senior officials and top executives from banking, finance, economic and investment establishments, along with leaders of concerned regional and international organizations.

Arab Bank is keen on taking part in such conferences, which come amid economic developments and reforms in the region to shed light on investment opportunities and the role of the private sector as an engine of development and economic growth.
